Fabric softener: use vinegar to dissolve the limestone in your water and your clothes and towels will become as soft as new. A masseur advised me to mix 30cl water with 70cl white vinegar, and some essential oil and to place the mix in the softener compartment of the washing machine. The essential oil is added to overcome the smell of vinegar.
After some experimenting what worked for me was to mix two capfuls of eucalyptus oil in 250ml of white vinegar and to add this mix directly to the water used to rinse the clothes in our twin tub washing machine.
